Pandora Handheld Computer & Gaming Device + Extras - Very Rare! Openpandora

My Pandora Handheld system is now up for sale. This system is in very good condition. I am only selling it because I no longer have as much time to pursue my passion / hobby of game emulation, and it’s been sitting unused for some time now.

Pandora Handheld

Pandora Handheld System with Case, Power Supply, New Battery, 16GB SD Card (pre-loaded with goodies, see below), & original packing materials.

The Pandora is a mixture between a PC and a gaming console. That's why it has gaming controls (Buttons, DPad and analog nubs). It is fast enough to emulate many other systems, run a full desktop, access the internet via FireFox and play games such as Quake3. However, it is not as big as a netbook. Believe it or not, it will fit in your pocket. It's a bit bigger than the Nintendo DS. The screen is an impressive 800*480 resolution LCD and the battery life is a sensational 10+ hours.

This is your chance to own one of less than 4,000 Pandora systems in existence. Many individuals have waited for years to receive theirs!

I would say that my system works perfectly, but the left shoulder button (L Button) does not always go in all the way and the stylus is loose when holstered (it came this way, HOWEVER, button presses are still properly recognized in games).

BONUS - PRELOADED SD CARD: This system also comes with a 16 GB SD Card which I had purchased separately. It will come preloaded with the following emulators, thereby making the Pandora capable of emulating the following systems out of the box:

(NOTE – it includes the following emulation software ONLY, you will need to obtain any corresponding rom game and/or bios files on your own, and ensure that you have the legal right to do so!)

DOSBox – for your favorite old DOS-based games & applications (Leisure Suit Larry series, Jump Man, Stunts, Duke Nukem 3D, Hexxagon, etc)

GNGeo – Neo Geo

GNUBoy – Nintendo Gameboy & Gameboy Color

GPFce / FCEUltra – Nintendo NES

GpspWiz – Gameboy Advance

Mame4All – Arcade / Mame, can also run many Neo Geo titles

Mupen – Nintendo 64

PCSX Rearmed – Playstation 1 (PSX)

PicoDrive – Sega Systems: Master System, Genesis, 32X, Sega CD

ScummVM – LucasArts adventure games (such as Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle, etc)

SNES9x – Super NES

UAE4ALL – Amiga (such as Another World, Worms, etc)

Ginge – GP2X emulator. It is used to run several programs which are native to the GP2x systems. WITHIN this emulator I have run several sub-programs in order to emulate:

- FinalBurn Alpha: CPS1 / CPS2 emulator (Capcom arcade systems emulator. Super Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom, etc)

- Boomshine 2x: Really fun touch-based game which I play on my Wiz

- Cave Story / Dokutsu 1.4: Phenomenal independently developed adventure game. I left a few versions of Profile.dat intact in case you want to jump directly to several of the later points in the game.

- Temper: PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 emulator. Yes, there is a native build of this emulator available for the Pandora, but at the time I was setting my system up this version ran my games properly.

Of course, the above programs just scratch the surface of what this system can really do! Because the Pandora is actually a full-featured Linux system in a handheld form it can handle web browsing, playing music & videos, working with documents, etc. I basically used it as a glorified emulation console, but I’m sure many of you out there will find countless other uses for it.

(Not to mention that there is currently a huge online repository for Pandora applications as well as a tight-knit online community. Actually the Pandora is tremendously community driven.)

UPDATE - VIDEOS: To see some amazing video demonstrations of various emulators and programs, check out the Pandora Video Vault at: http://www.kultpower.de/pandoravideos/

BEFORE BIDDING: PLEASE ensure that you understand what you’re bidding on! This is a great little system with a vast array of capabilities, but you do need to possess at least a basic know-how for how to drag & drop files, explore folder structures, customize system settings, etc.

I will include a few basic instructions for where to place new Pandora applications & rom files on the SD card, as well as where to go on the internet for more programs.

NO RESERVE PRICE: Even though I paid TWICE for this system (once for the initial cost of about $500, plus an extra $150 to expedite my order) I am willing to part with it no matter what the final auction price is. I’d rather it go to somebody who can put it to good use!

ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS: Do not bid if you are unwilling to pay for it in the end! I’ve had an issue with non-paying bidders in the past, and I will promptly report any others to eBay! I expect payment within 3 business days of the auction ending, but why not be a good bidder and just pay on the spot when the auction ends? That’s what I do every time. It’s not that hard!

Any questions? Do not hesitate to contact me!
